Victoria is a city and capital of the province of British Columbia, Canada. Once an important trading and manufacturing centre, it now functions as an administrative and tourist centre. It is sited on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, next to the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
It could be considered the Eastbourne of Canada as many older people retire to Victoria with its dry, warm summers and wet, mild winters. This intimate, sophisticated seaside city is also the vacation capital of Canada and the premiere tourist spot in the Pacific Northwest and delights in one of Canada's mildest climates.
